THANKSGIVING RETREAT

Toah Nipi Retreat Center in Rindge New Hampshire

November 23-25, 2022
American students tend to go home to their families for Thanksgiving, but many international students have no place to go for this short holiday. So, we invite you to come to New Hampshire with us for a fun 2 day getaway. Enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast and the chance to unwind around the fire, play games or take out a canoe or go for a hike in the beautiful countryside around Toah Nipi.

WEEKLY FELLOWSHIP GROUPS

Want to meet and engage with other Harvard international students, learn more about other countries, and explore what Christians believe?

Join a group once a month for Bible Study and supper on the third Friday of each month, starting on September 16 at 6:30pm at 18 Langdon Street, Cambridge.
Then join a small weekly group of 3-4 people for weekly fellowship, prayer & Bible Study, meeting at a mutually convenient time and location.
Contact Alek at alekbedroya@gmail.com if you’d like to join either the monthly or weekly groups or both.

ALPHA

Alpha is a place to connect with other international grad students at Harvard who are open to exploring life, faith and meaning. Each session includes a time to connect with others over a meal, hear a short talk on an element of the Christian faith, and then a chance for each person to share their own questions and thoughts with the group.

FALL 2022 ALPHA OPTIONS

  • In-person with supper in Cambridge on Wednesday evenings, starting September 21 at 6:30pm
  • Online via Zoom on Saturday mornings
  • In-person with lunch in Boston on Sunday afternoons, starting September 18 at 12:45 pm

We would love to hear your perspective!

PEACE FEAST

Muslims and Christians sharing a meal and real conversation

Peace Feasts are an opportunity for Muslims and Christians to come together by sharing a delicious meal and having a real conversation about the things we care about. It’s not a formal dialogue, nor a place to argue. It’s a time to share from the heart, listen respectfully, and gain new friends. That’s a recipe to change the world!

Peace Feasts are happening on campuses across the country. Here’s what students are saying:

  • “It was pretty obvious that we didn’t know each other’s faiths that well! This was a great chance to change that.”
  • “It’s an opportunity to learn our religions’ similarities and differences. In that way, we can find sisterhood and brotherhood, and peace.”
  • “It was very rewarding! I learned a lot and I found new friends.
  • “Everyone’s asking if we can do this again next month!”

Contact Jeff at jeffrey.potts@intervarsity if you are interested in participating in a Peace Feast on or near the Harvard Campus.
